Wellness questions to answer before buying
Some questions concern an object, some concern a person’s preferences, and some need qualified care. A checkout cannot answer all three.
What can documentation answer?
Look to the manual for intended use, material, dimensions, power and care. Look to seller terms for delivery and returns. If a specification is missing, ask the manufacturer. A lifestyle photo, influencer reaction or product name is not a reliable substitute.
What do the people involved decide?
Comfort, interest, privacy and boundaries belong to the adults involved. Ask what is wanted now. Browsing, owning or previously enjoying an item is not consent to another activity. A more enthusiastic partner should not define the pace for everyone.
What should leave the shopping process?
Persistent pain, a worrying change in sexual response or concerns about medication need appropriate professional advice. Do not buy a claimed solution because an advertisement names your anxiety. An educational guide cannot diagnose the cause or guarantee an outcome.

Before you decide
Am I asking a product page to solve a consent or health concern it cannot assess?

The source notes identify what each reference supports. Comparison steps and example wording are editorial guidance. No hands-on testing, clinical review or approval by these organizations is claimed.
- Brown University BWell: Sex Toys
Supports checking condition, stopping when use hurts, discussing boundaries and following manufacturer care instructions. It does not establish a safe size or guarantee suitability.
- RAINN: Consent 101 — Respect, Boundaries, and Building Trust
Supports clear, voluntary, ongoing agreement and the freedom to stop. Conversation examples here are editorial suggestions, not therapy or legal advice.
- NHS: Low sex drive (loss of libido)
Explains that desire changes can have several causes and that concerns can be discussed with a clinician. It does not diagnose an individual or prescribe a timetable.
